Parma will be without goalkeeper Salvatore Boniface and forward Simone Zaza for the rest of the season, with the Biancocelesti now in sixth place in Serie A. However, the side can still qualify for the Champions League, meaning they will face the winners of Sunday’s third-round clash between Parma and Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
Boniface had to be stretchered off the field following the first goal, after suffering an injury in the opening minute of the second half.
The 33-year-old goalkeeper, who has just one Serie A goal to his name, was replaced by Alessandro Del Piero.
Bonifacia is the only player to have appeared in all four of Parma-Parma’s matches this season.
He also has six Serie A goals.
