NBA player D’Angelo Russell: ‘It’s time to change the way we treat the women of our country’

NBA players D’angelo Russell and Shaquille O’Neal have both spoken out against the recent wave of violence and sexism perpetrated against women in the U.S. “I think the women’s issues are something that’s important to everybody,” Russell said in an interview with Fox Sports.
I’m just saying I would not be participating in a game, because I feel like it’s an important game, and I feel it’s the way to go.” “
So I think, just to be very clear, I’m not saying I’m going to do anything.
I’m just saying I would not be participating in a game, because I feel like it’s an important game, and I feel it’s the way to go.”
Russell also shared his thoughts on the recent spate of violence against women on social media.
“The last thing I want to do is be part of a culture that treats women that way,” Russell told Fox Sports in a video from his studio.
“There’s nothing more important than making sure that we, as a society, understand that women’s rights are human rights and that the ways that we approach them and how we treat women are important, because if we don’t do that, it’s not just going to be in this country that it’s going to continue.”
