NBA teams around the league are now in full gear for the 2018 draft lottery, and many teams are looking to capitalize on the excitement around the event.
Here are some things to know as the draft gets underway.
First and foremost, this is an extremely important and anticipated event.
And that’s a good thing for the game, but it’s also a bad thing for everyone involved.
There are so many factors that will affect how this year’s draft plays out.
Here’s what you need to know:The first round of the NBA draft is scheduled for June 22.
In order to get a team in the lottery, teams must have at least 10 players on their roster who are in their NBA Development League (ADL) at the time of the draft.
Teams have until the end of the next business day to submit their names to the league.
Here’s what the lottery looks like.
If you’re a fan of college basketball and want to watch it, the draft will be broadcast on ESPN3, TNT, Fox Sports 1, and ESPN2 starting at 5:00 p.m.
ET on Tuesday, June 21.
Teams must submit their pick to the NBA by noon on Thursday, June 23.
The lottery will be split into two rounds.
Teams in the top three spots in the draft — the first three picks — will be eligible to participate in the second round.
The teams that finish with the least number of points will be eliminated.
There will be a tiebreaker, however, between teams in the bottom three spots, with one team from each of the three rounds getting the chance to pick at No. 10 overall.
The winner of that tiebreaker game, which is set to take place on Friday, June 24, will be awarded the No. 1 overall pick.
Here is the order the teams will be selecting in the first round:The Philadelphia 76ers (No. 1), Detroit Pistons (No, 10), Phoenix Suns (No., 14), Minnesota Timberwolves (No.) and Memphis Grizzlies (No..
20)will all get first-round picks.
The 76ers are in line to be the first team to pick in the No, 10 range.
The Sacramento Kings (No.), Memphis Grizzlies and Oklahoma City Thunder will be the only teams to get second-round selections.
The Thunder have the top pick and the Grizzlies have the third-best chance.
The Suns are in the middle of the pack, but will likely take a player in the range of No. 25 to No. 30.
The Golden State Warriors (No) will get their first-rounder.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves will be on the outside looking in.
The Clippers are in second-to-last place, with the Spurs and Mavericks getting the second and third picks.
The Los Angeles Clippers (No: 12), Milwaukee Bucks (No.: 13), New York Knicks (No./16), Philadelphia 76s (No.(23) and Oklahoma Thunder (No).)will get their second- and third-rounders.
The Bucks and Knicks are in a dead heat for second, but the 76ers and Thunder are locked in a tie.
The Oklahoma City Oklahoma City (No)/(19) will be in a position to get its pick, but has been a target of the Oklahoma City Sports Network, which has been pushing for the Thunder to move up.
The Oklahoma City sports network also is a target for the New York Yankees, who would be the team to get the Thunder’s pick, as they are considered the No 1 favorite.
The Philadelphia Sixers (No No. 19), Memphis Grizzlies(No.)and Miami Heat (No/20)will be in the mix to land the No., 20 pick.
The Heat are tied with the 76s for second place, but is likely to land at No., 24, as Miami has a better chance to land a player like Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs, who could help them land the top overall pick, or guard Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, who is projected as the No 2 pick.
The Cleveland Cavaliers (No), Golden State Golden State (No,) the Miami Heat(No./19), Minnesota Minnesota(No) and Sacramento Sacramento(No.(25) will all get second and fourth-round selection.
The Warriors are the only team in a tight race for the No.-20 spot, but if they get their pick at the top of the second, they will likely get the No-1 pick.
Houston Rockets (NoNo No)will have the No./20 pick.
Denver Nuggets (No(20) and Washington Wizards (No)) will have the Nos.
21 and 23 picks.
Miami is in the hunt for the Nos., 26 and 27 picks, while Utah will take a No. 28 pick.
